A Plan to Cure Prospective Client Attention Deficit

Posted In:

Last week’s Feature Article included the below:

“I recently read a quote from Esther Dyson (a commentator on cyber businesses) who stated “I worry about something I call Mental Diabetes Type 2, a lack of ability to think in a concentrated fashion over a period of time.”

WOW! That’s a pretty strong statement and one that bears some attention not only from a “self” perspective and ensuring you stay focused, but also from a “client” perspective and keeping them engaged amidst a world of distractions (more on that next week).”

This week focuses on how you, the business owner, keep your client’s attention in a world of constant distractions.

The dilemma:

Keep your client’s (or prospective client’s) attention without overwhelming them or turning them off.

The solution:

Continuously offer fresh new information that your client can relate to without beating her over the head with promotions and ridiculous hypey messages that have the opposite effect of what you’re looking for.

The easiest way to do this is to offer your information through a variety of different media so your clients (and prospective clients) can enjoy a simple taste or opt for a full meal:

* Audio
* Social media — bite size info in 140 characters or less
* Video
* Ezine — full feature articles
* Tipzine — short and sweet, delivered to their email inbox
* Blog
* Teleclass
* Snail mail
* Webinar

The list goes on and on. The only limit being how much you wish to share and where you put your focus.

My Request To You

What are you doing to ensure you stay “top of mind” with your clients (and prospective clients)?

And by “doing”, I mean what steps are you ACTIVELY taking to ensure that the latest, greatest bright shiny object or other distraction doesn’t take your clients off course?

Take no more than 10 minutes right now to make a list of all the things you’re currently doing CONSISTENTLY and all the things you’d like to be doing consistently.

And then fill in the gaps between your present reality and your future goals.

If you’re having trouble creating a doable action plan to ensure your clients (and prospective clients) think of you FIRST, please reach out. I’d love to help you create your plan and Team Sandy is ready, willing and more-than-able to make it happen. 🙂
