While out an about picking up some last minute items for Easter dinner, the owner of a boutique bakery came up to me and said “Is that your car?”
“It is”, I replied. And here’s how the rest of the conversation went:
“So you know about marketing?”
“Absolutely, I’m a consultant and show small businesses like yours how to connect with your customers and prospective customers so they stay longer and invest more with you.”
“I know now’s not the right time for you, but do you have a card and can we get together next week? We’re looking to significantly expand and need your assistance.”
No selling.
No ickiness.
No paid advertising.
Not even my website.
Just picking up some cheesecakes for Easter dinner.
And here’s the $10 investment which made it happen:
A car magnet from Vistaprint.com — well that and a business card from OvernightPrints.com (they always have the best sales and quality!).
We spend so much time focused on the elaborate strategies that the simple is often overlooked.
